Megan Young is a graduate of the Algonquin College Sommelier program – but you will never hear her call herself a Sommelier. Having lived in six Canadian provinces and having visited six continents, Megan is well travelled and has gone from being a picky eater who, according to her grandmother, “never had a hot meal” to the kind of girl who revels in tasting menus and strange food surprises.
Her eyes were truly opened to the power of a food and wine pairing by the inimitable Linda Garson who runs a group of supper clubs in Calgary called Vine & Dine. Suddenly there was more to wine than pairing steak with red and fish with white – there was a riesling with Indian food or a zinfandel with a burger.
